His interest in medicine started soon after graduating from high school and his passion led him to double major in Physics and Human Biology in Stanford University. He proceeded to take up his residency in the UCLA Surgery Center while doing research in the Division of Plastic Surgery.

After his residency, he continued his training in plastic and microsurgery in New York University’s Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. While training, he had also worked for several established medical institutions such as Tisch Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, and Mount Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Borud’s credibility does not end with just his practice and research. He holds a certification with the American Board of Surgery. He is also admitted to several plastic surgery societies the likes of the American Society for Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, among others, which provide him recognition not only nationally but internationally as well.

His numerous publications, leading research, and specialization in cosmetic surgery make for a very significant reputation, having worked as key opinion specialist for Ethicon Incorporated, a surgical suture company, as well as serving as a member of the faculty in the Harvard Medical School for eight years.

Dr. Loren Borud is recognized as one of the most trusted plastic surgeons in the United States. Though he is currently in sabbatical, he is continuing to write a book on the business side of plastic surgery while handling his consultation projects.
